Elizabeth Hasselbeck claims older gay women are ‘lonely’
[HMG] – Not content with proclaiming that rape victims should be denied medicinal help, and that ESPN host Erin Andrews was solely to blame for getting stalked, ‘The View’ host Elizabeth Hasselbeck now says most older lesbians only go gay for love.
Tuesday’s show included a a lively discussion on why women who were straight until middle age…then suddenly went gay with no visible cause;
“You know what’s happening? It’s that older men are going for younger women and leaving the older women with no-one,” Elizabeth claimed.
There followed a scene-hogging discourse on how most older lesbians are just lonely, and also find other women to be ‘more understanding.’…Then Joy Behar woke up;
“That’s ridiculous,” proclaimed Joy. “Being gay is not just holding hands and walking through the tulips. I don’t think you suddenly say, ‘You know, I think I want to do that.’ You wanted to do it – you were just trapped in a system that said ‘get married.’”
Whoopi Goldberg also joined in, suggesting that women were better in bed because someone of the same sex understands your body.
Not to be blocked, Elizabeth, 33, then tried a new tack and suggested that most older women who decide to ‘come out’ do it for the companionship, not just for sex.
And so it went on.
Known for her ultra-conservative, press-friendly views this is not the first time Liz had her foot in her mouth – In August of 2006 she incited uproar when she said the ‘Morning After’ pill should be banned, even in cases of rape;
In October ‘07 Liz then declared that Hillary Clinton’s proposal to give each new child a $5,000 savings bond would mean fewer abortions – because the mothers would all want the free money.
And in May this year she claimed that ESPN’s Erin Andrews only got stalked because she “wears next to nothing.”
If you ever wondered why ‘The View’ gets even half the ratings it does, here’s a clue. Stay tuned and we’ll let you know what dumb proclamation comes next…
