(HMG) – British actor Tom Hardy, who co-starred recently in Hollywood films Star Trek Nemesis and Inception gave quite the interview to NOW! Magazine (via Daily Mail), saying that he went through a faze in his life where he definitely explored his sexuality.
When asked if he has ever had sexual relations with a man, the London-born Rock’n'Rolla star, who is currently engaged to actress Charlotte Riley replied:
“As a boy? Of course I have. I’ve played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I’m in my thirties, it doesn’t do it for me. I’m done experimenting but there’s plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine. A lot of people say I seem masculine, but I don’t feel it. I feel intrinsically feminine. I’d love to be one of the boys but I always felt a bit on the outside. Maybe my masculine qualities come from overcompensating because I’m not one of the boys.”
Hardy, 32, is next set to play the title role in the upcoming remake of Mad Max: Fury Road. It seems like there are many closeted leading men in Hollywood that might take note of what Hardy has just admitted to, assuming there isn’t any career backlash, which I doubt. Meanwhile, Hardy just scored a coveted starring role in McG’s action-comedy This Means War, replacing Sam Worthington in the 20th Century Fox production, which centers on two spies who wage war across New York when they fall in love with the same woman. Star Trek’s Chris Pine and Hardy are playing the agents who clash, while Reese Witherspoon has the role of the woman that ignites the feud.
